Organising a funeral or wake for a loved one can be a very daunting and difficult task. At Winchester House we are well versed in looking after families when planning such sensitive and emotional days. Our professional and compassionate team will ensure that the day is as stress-free as possible and that you can spend the day celebrating the life of a loved one.

Located on the banks of the River Thames, Winchester House is a charming and intimate venue in Putney. Available for exclusive hire, the ballroom can seat up to 100 guests. Guests can also make use of the private garden which overlooks the River Thames and is a beautiful setting for reception drinks.

Winchester House provides a safe and comfortable space to gather with close friends and family in remembrance of another. The layout of the venue provides ample of space, whilst remaining to feel intimate. The main ballroom is bright and has large windows overlooking the garden and river Thames.

The venue is fitted with a PA system and a screen should you wish to make a speech, presentation, or play a memorial video.

If you require catering at your wake, our on-site caterers can provide a variety of different options to suit your needs. From afternoon tea to buffets, canapés /bowl food, we will work with you to ensure that all your needs are met.
